THE ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE IS A NOBLE PURSUIT
— Jean-Luc Picard, Captain, USS Enterprise-D

Meteorites are stony or metallic fragments from space that reach the surface of a celestial body, having passed through its atmosphere without being completely consumed by atmospheric entry. They originate from asteroids, the Moon, or Mars, and can also come from other objects in the Solar System. We can classify them into four primary categories: chondrites, achondrites, iron meteorites, and stony-iron meteorites.
