This specimen is a 46 g unclassified chondrite meteorite with fusion crust. It retains a well-developed, dark fusion crust covering much of its exterior surface. The natural fusion crust formed as the meteorite passed through Earth’s atmosphere, when its outer surface was heated and partially melted during atmospheric entry.

Scientific and Physical Characteristics
Chondrites are stony meteorites that preserve some of the most primitive solid material formed during the early history of the solar system. They are composed primarily of silicate minerals and commonly contain chondrules, fine-grained matrix, and other components formed or altered during the early stages of planetary formation.

This specimen displays a well-preserved fusion crust on its exterior. The crust is produced during atmospheric entry as the outermost material is heated and partially melted, subsequently cooling rapidly after the meteorite passes through the atmosphere. The dark surface provides a clear visual indication of the meteorite’s atmospheric passage while retaining the natural character of the specimen.

As an unclassified chondrite, the specimen has not been assigned to a specific chemical or petrological chondrite group. Its classification would require appropriate laboratory analysis, such as petrographic examination and mineralogical and chemical characterization.
